Potted meat sauce and rice
For each person, take one small container (aprox 2 oz) of meat and put it
in the pan over the fire. Let it cook a little before adding one can (4 oz)
tomato sauce and one handful of rice. Mix and let bubble. Add some water and
cover. With the amount of fat in the meat, do not worry too much about it
burning as long as the pan is not directly on coals. It will take about 20
minutes for the rice to cook enough to eat. To make it a little quicker, about
an hour before you are to begin cooking, right around when you would be making
the fire, put the tomato sauce and rice in a container together. Have extra
sealable bags for such instances.
You can eat this right out of the pan if you want, but I suggest serving onto
plates or bowls and imediately put the pan back on the fire with water in
it to clean it while you are eating.
