Wheres a dry-cleaner when you need one?
I keep in my pack several plastic bags with such things as socks, an extra
set of underwear and a T-shirt. The socks are standard ones that I sealed
into two bags, just in case. I hope you never find out what it is like to
hike with wet shoes and socks. Every time I do the laundry from a trip, I
have to repack into a bag at least one of the items. Usually the T-shirt.

Hold still...
If you look closely, you will see on the back of the frame two shiny strips.
These are metal cooking skewers that I bought at a garage sale, and immediately
put into my pack. They are good for everything from roasting things over a
fire to emergency tent stakes. I have even used them as splints when a friend
rammed her hand into a rock too hard. Because of the external nature of the
frame, I am able to hook them on for transport and ready access.
