What does it have in it’s Pocketses?

Generally, I keep things in the front mesh pocket that I might need quickly, or are messy. Sun screen, bug stuff, salt and pepper- you know, the usual stuff.
With the spicing, make sure you do not have paper packets or easily crushable containers. There is nothing more disturbing than finding a fine black powder on everything in the day pack...

Too much sun, not enough tan.
With all the sunscreens out there, I do actually go by price, not brand. I do try to go natural, when possible, but if there is too much of a difference... But I do recommend one product.
Have you ever been in the situation that the sunscreen you just put on made the bug spray null and void, or the other way around? I have found a product that has a little bit of both, and is DEET free, for those of us who swell up and turn purple from it.
What I am talking about is the* ‘Kiss My Face’ line of SunSwat*. It is good for light duty situations, like most back yards or the beach. And it washes out so you can spray it on your clothes without worrying about the stains that some products leave. It also smells nice, so most people won’t even know you are wearing bug and sun protection. Remember that any sun can be bad, and all bugs are annoying, so plan ahead with long sleeved shirts, long pants and SunSwat. Look for it.

Water?
Even though it has been shown not to help too much with the physical dirt, I do like to have anti-bacterial hand gel along when I am ‘out there’. It might create stronger strains of germs later, but for right now, I am protected...

Marking time...
When I am taking a stroll around the neighborhood, I take a map and colored hilight pens to keep me up to date with what resources are there. There is a reason. *Want a mental excersise?*
