This weekend, August 17-19, 2001, Josh and I are going to go camping on a friends land. We have been told that it is primitive, so I am trying to take things that may help.
The Tent - we have not used this tent before, so it will be interesting to see how it goes up.
Sleeping stuff - Mats, Bags, Blankets, Pillows. Hey, I like comfort. Without a good sleep, I am sore and cranky, making others sore, too.
Lighting - I am vacillating between taking candles and other fire oriented lighting and just going with flashlights. It is most likely that I will take a selection of each, and use some of each. We are also deciding whether or not campfire or liquid fuel for the cooking...
Food - Well, a few gallons of bottled water would be good. Not knowing how 'primitive' it really is, I would rather have some along, just in case. We will be taking a loaf of bread, jelly and other condiments for munchies. Past that, we still have not decided, but nothing that has to be cooked to be eaten, like canned ravioli, would be good. Gatorade. Remember the Gatorade...
My survival pack - well, yes, I am taking that, but I have to reassemble some of it. The First Aide kit had been taken off and used(a good thing), but not put back. We also should make sure that there is sun screen and bug spray in the kit. And socks. Extra socks are always useful.
The Ice Chest we have has wheels, and as such seems to have rolled off somewhere. Wait, I think it is in the front yard.(silly Rena). We should take real ice, and the blue stuff. Even if it is getting cooler out, it is still a treat to suck on ice in the middle of the day when camping.
Check back to see how it went...
