Michigan isn't just a huge lake. It is a State of Two parts and endless possibillities. The terrain ranges from the Dunes to the huge Metro area of Detroit.
Detroit has a wide range of touristy places, from Casinos to Theatres, and a history from way before recorded history.
There are many hotels in the Detroit area, but if you are into a little Vegas outside of Navada, you may be interested in one of the new Casino Hotels that have come into Detroit over the last few years. The MGM Grand is the largest, but look at Greektown and Motor City, too. They do offer all in one lodging and entertainment, but why stay in the hotel when you have gone to a different city?
Being 'Mo-Town', Detraoit has lots of places that are dedicated to the automobile industry. Take a tour of the Henry Ford Estate, look at the collection at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum or see the highlights of automotive history at the Automotive Hall of Fame. Or you could be interested in the other side of MoTown and check out the Motown Historical Museum.
For one of the most amazing views, try the complimentary tour of the Renaissance Center, known as the Ren Cen. Just don't look down while you are in the glass elevator on the way up to the 72nd floor.
