Most of the Airports out there have websites that can be used to gather information, from arrivals and departures to simple parking fees.
Chicago's O'Hare airport can be a great place, but go to the website to find out the latest info. World Airport Guides has an O'Hare website, as well as many others.
Even smaller Airports, like Madison's Truax, has websites with information.
With the ever changing security limits on items you can take with you, I suggest using a package carrior to ship questionable or bulky items. Fishing or hunting gear can keep you from getting on a plane if it isn't labeled or packaged properly.
