Catnip is great plant to have around, and not just to keep your cat happy.
Catnip is of the mint family. All mints have a square stalk with a likelyhood of leaves being on oppisite sides of each other.
This mint can be used for teas, for poultices as well as in scented potpurris.
For tea, eather use dried, crushed leaves or the fresh torn leaves in boiling water. Remember that the more you boil the leaves, the less of the essance you will have. I suggest you pour the water over the leaves and let it steep in a covered container.
In a poultice, in combination with other things like flax seed meal and plantain to draw out and soothe infections. mush together the ingrediants, add a little hot water if neccissary, and put against an infected area on the skin. Do not do this for more than two days if itis not working.
