An odd thought
Reincarnation - Multiple personalities
I have a theory that reincarnation is real, but sometimes it goes wrong. Either
someone is very vulnerable, like when there is physical or emotional trauma,
or perhaps if they die on the operating table, another soul slips into that
body instead of into a newborn's, but the original stays around after being resuscitated.
Another version of this is when someone 'gives up' and lets themselves die
emotionally/mentally and they are reborn, but in the same body. The original
personality could still be there, but hidden. The latter can account for some
forms of schizophrenia. The former is classic for MPD.
What if this explains MPD in abused children? What if the multiple souls explain
why a physically 10 year old, or younger, child can have 30 year old personalities
that are complete, with info even avid t.v. watching cannot account for? What
if this explains why some MPD's cannot remember what different aspects do
at different times? Perhaps this is why after dying and being brought back,
some people have voices or can 'communicate' with 'the other side', because
they actually have someone who is connected with the other side in with them?
There is actually a series of books co written with Mercedes Lacky, S.E.R.R.A., where one of the characters in one of the stories actually had a reincarnated person in them. Interesting.
Think about it.
Well, someone thought about it...
KPAX - Did you see that movie? I think your idea of MPD and souls entering bodies and reincarnation gone wrong can explain what happened to that patient...
Good catch! That could describe many characters, and some scriptwriters... Thank you, Marlann!
